My name is Michele Zajac and I am the owner and artist of Memories Forever Etched. My basic background is in Illustration and Graphic Design having earned my BFA in Communication Arts from Moore College of Art & Design in 2000.
Upon my graduation from Moore College I worked for a tapestry company in Bridgeport, PA. I was one of the in-house artists in the design department and I was there for three years. I decided to go back to school to earn my Art Education Certification. I am currently teaching art at a local charter school. I love my job and students however, I cannot ignore the always nagging urge to draw and create art!
I discovered etching while I was out shopping for items for work. I picked up an etching kit which included a 3"x3" piece of glass, a brush, some small stencils, and etching cream. I read the instructions and used the supplied tools and etched the small piece of glass in the kit. From that point on the process was pretty cut and dry and I was hooked on etching glass!
Since I learned the process I have etched numerous images for many different occasions, from fire company housing trophies and apparatus images, 60th wedding anniversaries, pet portraits, and birth announcements, to name a few!
I have seen the reactions as well as received rave reviews from my customers to the reactions of the people who received them as gifts! Tears and amazements as to the uniqueness and personalization of the gift!
My plans for the future are to continue with my teaching as well as with my etchings!
